Matchmove Artist The Match Move Artist is responsible for recreating the sets, objects and camera motion of a shot in a 3D software environment to match the live-action background plate images. What you will do: Create sets, props and other models based on blueprints, photographs and measurements. Set up the camera from camera data sheets, and track camera motion to match background plates. Animate props and puppets to match the action in the plates. Produce renders of the match move over the plates to check registration. Participate as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions. Participate in dailies and other meetings as required by production and management. Initiate dialogue and assumes responsibility for assigned work. Consistently meet production, management and match move team goals and deadlines in an expedient and efficient manner. Must have: Proficient in Maya, or other high-end 3D animation software packages is essential. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take direction professionally. Ability to approach work with critical thought, analytical skills and solution-based focus. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in commercial match move software such as 3D Equalizer, PFTrack, Nuke X, Boujou, SynthEyes is desired. Visual effects experience in feature films or related media is desired. Knowledge of Linux operating system and general scripting literacy desired. Experience with detailed model building, architecture or related fields a plus. Experience in traditional photography, film or video production a plus. You will need: Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take direction professionally. Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
