Environment Concept Artist

The Environment Concept Artist will:

  • Work closely with the Art Director and VFX Supervisor to define the look of the project, the visual direction, and mood the for a range of environments on a wide variety of projects, including: film, commercials and themed entertainment.
  • Conceptualize and execute concept art that is inspiring and unique,  while maintaining a consistent look throughout various locations and types of environments. 
  • Produce work in an efficient and timely manner, keeping up with the pressures of a challenging and fluid production schedule.
  • Research, ideate, sketch, iterate, and quickly generate concepts.
  • Develop detailed concepts and produce orthographic drawings for 3D pipeline.
  • Work closely with Art Department colleagues, production team, and project supervisors.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent artistic and visual-storytelling skills.
  • Strong knowledge of composition, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, and architectural design. Character design skills are a plus.
  • Excellent drawing skills, and able to draw from life and references.
  • Proficient with pencil and paper, as well as digital pads with Photoshop and similar 2D software. Experience with Zbrush and other 3D programs is a plus.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a great team-player.
