Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brought his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as the writer, director and voice star of Ted. The live action/CG-animated comedy tells the story of a grown man (Mark Wahlberg) and his cherished childhood friend, a teddy bear who came to life as the result of a youthful wish.

The Tippett Studio team designed, built, rigged and animated a character that not only looked photoreal alongside Mark Wahlberg’s live action performance, but delivered on MacFarlane’s signature comedic timing. Of Tippett’s work on the project, MacFarlane later said, “We had a great animation studio, Tippett, which just knocked it out of the park for us.”

Ted became the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time, making $549 million worldwide.
