EVOLUTION

We at Tippett Studio love getting our hands dirty so we enjoyed bringing both practical and CG skills to bear on our work for the comedic science-fiction flick Evolution. The brief was to create a number of extraterrestrial creatures which would undergo various phases of evolution, each of which would require a distinct model, rig, paint job and style of animation.

Because of our history of film-making, we were able to make smart production decisions that saved the project time and money. We started the process with intensive look development, creating an army of realistic resin maquettes to help our artists better approximate the real-world look and feel of our imaginary characters.
