CLOVERFIELD

One of the most successful low budget horror films ever made, Cloverfield, was unlike any other project our team had worked on previously. Tippett Studio integrated believable creature animation and destruction effects on a massive scale with handheld cell phone footage.

Large-scale set extensions were undertaken in order to portray the destruction of New York City even as the creative team overcame the technical challenges of working with shaky, hand-held footage to achieve the immediacy of terror that ultimately made the film such a successful scare.

Our first collaboration with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, Cloverfield earned Tippett a 2008 VES Award Nomination for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture.
